Ambassador in Belarus critical of alleged black lists of unwanted
MINSK, March 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander
Surikov has assessed negatively the possible existence of black lists of
Russians banned from entering the country. He expressed this position of
his in an interview with reporters on Friday.
"I will not directly answer whether there are some lists approved by
someone, but I think unpublished lists or decisions may exist," he said,
replying to a question from Itar-Tass. Surikov added that, for example, in
Europe there are "black" lists of foreign nationals, the same certainly
can exist both in Russia and Belarus, but "without official signatures,
not having the force of official documents."
The ambassador said that his attitude to these things is negative,
"you should be able to talk with these with those."
At the same time, explaining his idea, he said: "I am negative about
all sorts of lists, although I am also negative about visits to Belarus by
some Russian nationals and Belarussian nationals to Russia for the sole
purpose of participating in opposition activities."
About the position of such people the Russian diplomat said that "the
life of peoples is not confined to a negative attitude towards the
leadership."
"There are negative things, there are errors by the existing state
figures, and there are positive things they do to the benefit of their
peoples. Everything must be evaluated reasonably. "
