Gazprom discusses with Poland future natural gas supplies

MOSCOW, March 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Polish
Ambassador to Russia Wojciech Zajaczkowski have discussed the amount of
natural gas deliveries to Poland, the company said in a statement after
the meeting.
Also, the two men considered cooperation between Gazprom and the
Polish oil and gas company PGNiG, including the prospects of partnership
in such areas as underground gas storage, gas-fuelled electric power
plants, hydrocarbon exploration and production in Russia, Poland and in
third countries.
The annual gas consumption in Poland is about 13.7 billion cubic
meters, of which amount approximately 30 percent is produced domestically.
In 2010, Gazprom, according to preliminary data, exported to Poland
9.9 billion cubic meters of Russian gas.
In October 2010, Gazprom and PGNiG signed several inter-company
agreements related to increasing the volume of Russian natural gas
supplies to Poland starting from 2010. In particular, there was signed an
addendum to the contract on gas supplies from Russia, which provides for
an opportunity to build up exports to Poland to 11 billion cubic meters a
year in line with demand in the Polish market.
