Demonstrators in Najaf demand reforms
Najaf (NINA) – Hundreds of Najaf's citizens took to the streets on Friday, Mar. 25, demanding reforms in Iraq and uprooting corruption, as well as to justly treat political prisoners.
A demonstration's organizer, Adnan al-Khafaji, told NINA, "The demonstration is a continuation of previous ones rejecting the government's practice of benefiting political parties on the account of the peoples' interests."
He added, "Demonstrators demand questioning the President for his statement that threatens Iraq's unity."
He went on saying, "We reject a call by some of the Provincial Council members demanding making Najaf a region."
Demonstrator Hayder Radhi said, "We demand reforms and rectify the country's situation as well as combating corruption."
