      Car crash thieves bash good Samaritan
SYDNEY, March 25 (AAP)- One man has been charged and another is under police guard in hospital after a motorist was allegedly punched and forced to drive his attackers to a northern NSW town.
Police say the 18-year-old male victim had pulled over after spotting a Mitsubishi Lancer had crashed on Wyrallah Road, south of Lismore on Thursday night.
The car had been stolen from a fundraising event in Lismore earlier that evening, police allege.
As the 18-year-old called emergency services the two men, said to have been inside the Mitsubishi when it crashed, allegedly punched him and forced him to drive them to Coraki.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at a home in Coraki on Friday morning.
He was charged with a number of offences including assault and is due to front Lismore Bail Court on Saturday.
A 23-year-old man is under police guard at Lismore Base Hospital where he is receiving treatment for injuries said to have been sustained during the car crash.
