77 Thai provinces to fund recovery efforts in Japan

BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) - The gathering of financial aid to support post-disaster recovery in Japan is set to officially begin across all 77 provinces in the kingdom, says a Thai official.
Chavarat Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Interior Minister, spoke of the renewed effort in his message to governors around the country Thursday afternoon, encouraging all members of the public to step up and support the country, as it is one of Thailand’s friendliest nations.
Chavarat said during the video-conference meeting, all voluntary contributions will go directly assisting victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, and will be delivered through the Foreign Ministry on behalf of all Thais.
Meanwhile, Nipit Intarasombut, who is Culture Minister, announced the same day that his ministry will be holding a concert together with a product fair, under the theme “MAGOKORO 2011”--the Japanese word for “courtesy”--in an effort to help raise funds. The event, set to be held April 4, will also mark over 125 years of the long-established relationship between the two kingdoms, he added. (TNA)
