Protesters plan to expand rallies to whole Syria

BEIRUT (Itar-Tass) - Protesters in Syria plan to hold the
Day of Dignity on Friday to expand protests to the whole of the country
despite the pledge of President Bashar al-Assad to grant them greater
political freedom and raise public pay.
Al Jazeera TV channel said calls for massive anti-government rallies
appeared in social networks as protesters want to spread the wave from the
south to other regions of the country.
In the southern city of Deraa 130 kilometers from Damascus thousands
of Syrians chanted "freedom, revolution" on Thursday protesting against
the 48-year rule of the Baath Party.
Twenty thousand people attended the funeral of protesters killed in
clashes with security forces on Wednesday. The death toll was at least 37
people.
Syrian TV said al-Assad amnestied all arrested protesters in Deraa who
were freed from custody.
