Authority: Thailand will not intervene in internal affairs of other countries

BANGKOK, March 24 (TNA) - Thai Defence Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan publicly announced on Thursday that Thailand will not intervene in internal affairs of other countries.

In his response to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's recent declaration of a possible holy war against multinational forces, led by world powerful nations, General Prawit insisted that Thailand has no policy to intervene in internal affairs of Libya and all other nations.

General Prawit said that he wishes a peaceful co-existence among Thai people of all religions and races, dismissing fears of a public uprising against the government in Thailand's insurgency-plagued southern border region, similar to that happening in Libya, as the Thai military has taken good care of the situation and the Thai army chief has paid visits to the troubled region every week.

The Thai defence minister affirmed that the Thai military will continue implementing every mean and measure to provide security to local people and property in the country's restive South, including creating public awareness on always following updates in their neighbourhoods. (TNA)
