Babil Universicty signs five agreements with Russian universities
Baghdad (NINA) – The University of Babil signed with memos of understanding on joint scientific cooperation with five Russian universities.
The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Abid Ali al-Tae, said that the University of Babil has signed joint memos of understanding with five Russian universities, (Srata Governmental University, Srata University of Technology, Government University of San bit Speer for communications, Tver State University of Agricultural, Beltagrad Government University technological).
He added that the five universities are invited by the Ministry of Higher Education to visit the Iraq's Mid Euphrates universities to consolidate relations with Russian universities and conclude memos of understanding with them.
He clarified that the memos consisted of providing scholarships, training and carry our researches in all scientific and technical fields that Iraq is in need for.
For his part, the President of Babil University, Dr. Nabil Hashim al-Araji said that the University is seeking toward concluding agreements with Arab and international universities, especially Russian.
Dean of the Faculty of Geography at Srata Governmental University, Dr. Vladimir Mcalf, said that, "We believe that there is a similarity in earth of Iraq and the city of Srata, which means that both face similar kinds of problems. Hem mentioned that there is a joint program to combat desertification through training Iraqi students by making them join coursed in this field". / End.
