9 Wanted captured, 2 suspects detained, ammunition stack uncovered in Diyala

Baquba (NINA) – In series of security operations carried out in various parts of Diyala province, Iraqi forces captured nine wanted persons and detained two suspects.

Security source told NINA on Tuesday, Mar. 22, that police forces carried out search raids in Baquba, Muqdadiya, Bani-Sa'ad and Jalawla, resulted in the capturing of 9 wanted persons and two suspects.

He added that during a search raid in areas north of Muqdadiya, an Iraqi force uncovered an ammunition stack; pointing out that the stack contained mortar shells, light weapons and various types of ammunition.
On the other hand, an explosive ordnance disposal expert deactivated an improvised explosive device emplaced in western Baquba; no casualties reported. / End.
