Peace Praying Festival in Mekong delta
Soc Trang (VNA) – Khmer ethnic people in the Mekong delta province of Soc Trang are eagerly organising the Bun Kom San Sroc (peace praying) festival.
This is an annual event that often takes place in dry season from the first to the third month of the lunar calendar.
During the event, the Khmer people pray for peace, happy life and bumper harvest.
Worthy of note in this year’s festival are Bun Chroi Rum Chec (making offerings to sea) in Vinh Chau district and Bun Thac Koung (beating gongs) in Chau Thanh district.
