ABOUT PREPARATION FOR INTRODUCING EU STANDARDS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The regular cabinet meeting held Tuesday approved a plan of ensuring preparation for studying and introducing principles, norms and standards of the European Union in Mongolia. The cabinet has decided to convey an official request to the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and to the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) on enrolling as a collaborator.
Headed by the First Deputy Premier N.Altankhuyag, the working group for the preparation for introducing the EU standards has got au fait on the spot with experiences of the Czech Republic in introducing the European standards.
The group considers that in order to introduce the European standards, Mongolia should convey its requests on developing cooperation to the basic institutes which set up all types of standards within the EU, and to get a right to obtain information from the data of the specialized organizations of European standards.
It is important to work out a draft resolution on introducing European standards and submit it to parliament. When the resolution is approved, introduction of the standards will be a responsibility of not only the government, but also of all related state organizations. It will be also helpful to put necessary capital in the state budget for the years to come. Moreover, the group emphasized a requirement to analyze the accordance of the Mongolian construction, education, railway and other fields with the European standards such as education of Cambridge, Canadian construction and Russian railways.
