Putin conveys Medvedev greetings to Slovenia president

LJUBLJANA, March 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin on Tuesday conveyed greetings from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
to President Danilo Turk of Slovenia.
Putin pointed out, "The President and I spoke a lot on Monday night,
discussing the development of Russo-Slovenian relations".
The Head of the Russian Government emphasized that productive and
substantive talks with Slovenia's Prime Minister Borut Pahor had been
held earlier on Tuesday, and that a package of documents had been signed.
"We are glad not only of the fact that trade turnover between our two
countries has reached the pre-recession level but also because economic
relations continue to intensify," Putin stressed.
The Russian Premier also attached much importance to the development
of relations in the field of humanitarian cooperation. Putin said an
agreement had been signed Tuesdaty on the opening of a Russian Center for
Science and Culture in Ljubljana and a Slovenian one in Moscow. Putin's
opinion is that this will additionally give greater scope to contacts in
all fields.
The President of Slovenia, for his part, pointed out that Tuesday's
meeting provides an opportunity to carry on the dialogue launched during
his visit to Moscow in November 2010. "We in Slovenia are firmly confident
that Russia and the European Union as a whole have common interest in
promoting the development of large-scale cooperation," Turk emphasized.
