Sports Cricket World Cup ticket sales rise with a possible India, Pakistan clash
Chandigarh, March 22, 2011 (PPI): With India-Pakistan semifinal clash in the cricket World Cup a theoretical possibility, tickets are been selling like hot cakes for match scheduled on March 30 to be hosted by Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium at Mohali.
If India win against Australia and Pakistan beat West Indies in their quarterfinal ties, the arch-rivals will meet at Mohali, one of the two semifinal venues.
PCA Joint Secretary, G S Walia confirmed that there has been a brisk sale of tickets. “There has been a brisk sale of tickets for semifinal match. A total of 9920 tickets have been sold on opening day Monday at branches of Central Bank of India including two gates of PCA stadium, Mohali.”
