Russian Federation Council speaker to hold talks at Scottish parliament, deliver lecture

LONDON, March 22 (Itar-Tass) - On the final day of his visit to Great Britain, Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov will visit Scotland, where he will hold talks at the local parliament and will deliver a lecture at the University of Edinburgh.
The speaker is expected, in particular, to meet with First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond, who leads the Scottish National Party, and Scottish Parliament speaker Alex Fergusson.
Mironov puts much emphasis on the development of inter-regional
relations between Russia and the United Kingdom and expects that his visit will give them an additional impetus. He intends to present his view of Russian-British relations when delivering a lecture to students.
Addressing reporters, he stressed that the two countries are doing big job to fight the existing threats, and the existing pseudo problems in their relations must go to the background
