Qatar Business and Investment Forum in New York to Feature Important Economic Issues - Al Rumaihi

Doha (QNA) - HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Follow-Up Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi who is also Chairman of the Permanent Committee of the Conferences of the Foreign Ministry said that the Qatar Business and Investment Forum , which will be held in New York City on April 6 -7, will feature important economic and investment issues to highlight Qatar economies and the prospects and areas of business and investment and at all economic levels. The forum is sponsored attended by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, with the participation of high-level delegation from the State of Qatar and the United States of America. HE Al Rumaihi said at a press conference this evening that the Forum will provide details on a range of future projects that are part of the future of Qatar as well as its objectives, including access to large companies and medium-scale companies in the United States and to enhance communication with Qatar''s partners in all fields in US which is considered a great economic and industrial partner, especially in the oil and gas sectors. He also said that the Forum would provide opportunities for infrastructure projects in Qatar, which he said its huge projects would include transportation and communications , airports, ports, besides modern cities and other projects included in Qatar''s vision 2030 and events hosted by Qatar and including World Cup 2022 in addition to the major areas of finance and investment, particularly in the field of finance, business, insurance and project financing. He said that a large number of national companies in Qatar and US companies in all areas will take part in the Forum and on top of these areas of the oil and gas sector, oil industry, the banking sector, business, transportation, communications, education, health and scientific research as well as the sports field and Qatar hosting World Cup 2022 and the Handball World Cup 2015. HE Al Rumaihi said the two-day Forum, will be administered by professional media persons from Qatar and the United States where they would lead independent discussions and dialogue. HE Al Rumaihi said that joint economic Qatari-US joint project of the Golden Pass Terminal will be inaugurated by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in the presence of HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh Al Sada, during a dinner reception to be held on this occasion .. The function will be attended by a number of dignitaries leading figures from Qatar and the United States, especially New York City, he added. The Golden Pass Terminal is expected to receive the first shipment of the Qatari Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in October this year, to confirm Qatar''s leadership in the gas industry at the global level, he noted.
