Japan disaster toll in Miyagi alone to exceed 15,000 -- police
TOKYO, March 20 (Itar-Tass) -- The number of deaths from the
earthquakes and tsunami in the most severely hit Japanese prefecture of
Miyagi alone will exceed 15,000 people, the police chief of the
northeastern coast prefecture on the country's main island of Honshu, said
on Sunday.
On the official list of the dead from the March 11 devastating
earthquake and the following tsunami are 7,700 people as of this Sunday.
Unaccounted are 11,655 people.
