Thailand continues studying on nuclear plants: Energy Minister

BANGKOK, March 19 (TNA) - Thai Energy Minister Wannarat Channukul, has confirmed that, rather than ending a national study into the development of nuclear power capacity, Thailand will carry on the study.
Dr. Wannarat said, however, any proposal on a nuclear power plant in Thailand is not expected in the near future. This approach echoes active movements of other countries worldwide which are carefully observing incidents at the troubled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan--following its historic disaster on March 11 when a massive earthquake triggered a devastating tsunami and radiation leaks.
