Two RME planes with humanitarian cargoes fly to Tokyo
KHABAROVSK, March 19 (Itar-Tass) -- An Il-76 of the Russian Ministry
for Emergency Situations (RME) with 8,600 blankets on board flew from
Blagoveshchensk to Tokyo on Saturday, ITAR-TASS learnt at the RME Main
Department of the Amur Region. The cargo was requested by the Japanese
side.
The plane was to fly to Japan back on March 17, but its flight was put off several times because the Japanese side didn't give its consent to receive the plane.
Another Il-76 plane with a humanitarian cargo on board was sent from
Khabarovsk to Tokyo on Saturday.
The two planes carry some 40 tonnes of cargoes. The planes are
expected to bring to Khabarovsk those Russians who decided to leave Japan because of a radiation threat on the same day.
