Ukraine lowers import duties on buckwheat
KIEV, March 19 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich
signed an order on customs duties for certain kinds of grain.
The country will lower import duties on buckwheat from 20 percent to
zero percent till June 1, 2011.
Ukraine has decided to buy buckwheat from China. The first shipment of 504 tonnes is expected to arrive in Odessa in early April.
According to the agreements, China will supply 2,000 tonnes in March
and two more thousand tones in April, Prime-Tass reports.
Ukraine's production of buckwheat has been declining lately. In 2009
the crops made 188.6 thousand tones, in 2008 - 241 thousand tones, in 2007 - 217.4 thousand tones.
