Norilsk starts selling subsidized air tickets to Moscow, St Pete

KRASNOYARSK, March 19 (Itar-Tass) -- Norilsk in Russia's Krasnoyarsk
Territory started selling air tickets under the state subsidies programme.
This year, the programme unites five aviation companies, the city's press service said. They are Sibir and Nordavia /to serve flights to Moscow/, Taimyr /for flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi/, Rossiya /to St. Petersburg/, and the Urals Airlines to operate flights to Moscow, Sochi and St. Petersburg.
In 2011, the programme will offer subsidized prices fro new routes: Norilsk - Moscow /4,500 roubles/, Norilsk - St. Petersburg /5,000 roubles/ and Norilsk - Sochi /7,000 roubles/. Children under 12 will use additional discount of 25 percent.
The federal programme to subsidise aviation transport was launched in autumn of 2009. Its objective is to subsidise for students and aged people 50 percent of their air fairs to Moscow and St. Petersburg in the economy class. From 2009, Tyva's Kyzyl and Norilsk joined the programme, where 164,000 passengers used the special conditions. The federal budget allocated 1.6 billion roubles for the programme.
According to the terms of the programme, aviation companies should
provide a certain amount of subsidized seats per each flight. If a plane takes 180 passengers, 60 seats are to be for the programme, and in planes with capacity of 100 to 180, 40 seats are to be left for the passengers using the programme options.
The programme lasts from April 1 through to October 31.
During 2010, for the Norilsk - Moscow route the Taimyr aviation
company sold 11,778 tickets worth 53 million roubles, and the Sibir
Company - 4,141 tickets worth 18.6 million roubles.
