Ukraine to look for new gas supplies sources - Azarov
KIEV, March 19 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukraine will develop diversification of
sources for gas supplies if the existing conditions for its import remain, Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said on Friday.
"Either we agree with our counterparts on normal conditions of gas
supplies, or we shall do everything to diversify gas supplies to Ukraine, we have no other choice," he said. "The conditions, where we depend on one supplier, who dictates prices unacceptable for our economy, are harmful future."
The government is actively attracting investors to produce alternative gas, he continued.
Russia is the only supplier of gas to Ukraine. The two countries
signed a ten-year contract on supplies in January of 2009.
