Export of grain to depend on realistic situation - Zubkov
MOSCOW, March 19 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister
Viktor Zubkov rules out early permission to resume export of grain.
Earlier, Russia's Grain Union suggested lifting the current embargo on export of grain and plans to address the government.
"We have to consider the request, what grain, to where, and if it is
really necessary now," Zubkov said on Friday. "I can understand their
interest, but we are responsible for having grain in Russia not only on
March 1, but on June 1 and July 1."
"They have one task, we have another task, which is to have a stable
balance to live through winter and to have stable prices for bread, flour and feed," he said. "Thus we must control every month what we have and what is in store."
Renewing export now is not possible, he added.
The embargo will be effective till late June.
"We shall decide what to do afterwards, as everything will depend on
the realistic situation in the international markets and on the Russian
one," he said.
