Thailand’s Air Force C-130 aircraft to deliver relief supplies to disaster victims in Japan

BANGKOK, March 18 (TNA) - The Royal Thai Air Force has prepared three C-130 aircraft to carry relief supplies to Japan to help earthquake and tsunami victims.

Group Captain Mana Prasopsri, deputy chief of the Royal Thai Air Force’s civil affairs directorate, said that two C-130 planes will depart at 10pm Friday night and the other will leave at 10pm on Saturday, noting that the three Thai air force planes will also bring an unconfirmed number of Thai people home but they have a capacity of 100.

The senior Thai air force officers acknowledged that he will deliver donations from Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the Friends in Need Volunteers Foundation and the Thai Red Cross Society to quake and tsunami victims in Japan.

Group Captain Mana said two Thai doctors from an institute of aviation science will also be on a flight tonight to examine radiation-related safety in Japan. (TNA)
