Thai industrial index drops

BANGKOK, March 17 (TNA) - The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) reported on Thursday that the Thai industrial sentiment index (TISI) dropped for the first time in three months to 108.27 in February 2011, from 112.7 in the previous month.
FTI Chairman Payungsak Chartsuthipol said that the TISI fall was due to higher production costs faced by local industries amid rising world oil prices, domestic interest rates and minimum wages, as well as this year's early drought which has reduced Thai farm produce. (TNA)
