Prime Minister Gilani Kyrgyzstan President Otenbayeva discuss bilateral, regional, global issues
Bishkek, March 16, 2011 (PPI): Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in meeting Wednesday with Kyrgyzstan President Ms Roza Otenbayeva said signing of joint declaration will enhance trade volume through establishment of joint business council and more cooperation between private sectors of two countries.
He said Pakistan desires multi-faceted and vibrant ties with Kyrgyzstan for prosperity of both countries. Ms Otenbayeva and Gilani in meeting at presidential office discussed whole gamut of bilateral, regional, global issues, Pak-Kyrgyz strategy on energy, infrastructure, Afghanistan situation, official said.
Gilani noted with satisfaction that Pakistan’s relations with Central Asian states including Kyrgyzstan were improving. Gwadar deep seaport in Pakistan could serve as hub of trade for the region and urged Kyrgyzstan (land locked country) to also benefit from it.
Ms Otenbayeva said two countries would begin new era of ties with cooperation in diverse fields. Kyrgyzstan is making efforts for improving communication, transportation, road links with Pakistan for access to international markets via Gwadar port. She lauded Pakistan’s peace efforts in Afghanistan and its support for reconstruction of war-ravaged country.
