45.540 Kg hashish seized; 13 arrested for involvement in drug peddling and fake currency business

Islamabad Police on Tuesday arrested 13 persons for their alleged involvement in drug smuggling, theft, keeping fake currency and recovered 45.540 kilogram hashish, 23 wine bottles, fake currency worth Rs. 10,000, 300 gram heroin and stolen items worth Rs. 26,000 from their possession.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Imtiaz Ali recovered 44.650 kilogram hashish after investigation from a nabbed person Ehsan Ali against whom a case under section 420/468/471 PPC at Golra police station has been already registered. Sub-Inspector Akhtar Ali from Golra police station arrest an accused Muhammad Riaz during routine patrolling and recovered 300 gram heroin from him while Sub-Inspector Ameer Umar from Tarnol police station nabbed an accused Babar Hussain for having 340 gram hashish.

Sub-Inspector Basharat Ali from Koral police station apprehended a thief identified as Arshad Ali and recovered stolen items worth Rs. 26,000 from him while Sub-Inspector Arshad Mehmud also from Koral police station nabbed three car occupants Rizwan, Qamar Zaman and Attique after stopping their car (LHM-8390) for having three wine bottles.

ASIs Qaisar Niaz and Muhammad Akram from Aabpara police station arrested nabbed two bootleggers Anwer Maseeh and Aakash Maseeh for having 13 and eight wine bottles respectively. Sub-Inspector Jamshed from Bhara Kahu police station arrested a cab driver after a brief chase and recovered 250 gram hashish from him.

ASI Syed Asif Hussain from Sabzi Mandi police station nabbed an accused Fazal Muhammad for having 200 fake currency notes of worth Rs. 500 while ASI Muhammad Haneef apprehended two persons Waseem and Wasiq for watching prone movies.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons under the various sections and further investigation is underway from them. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of those policemen who arrested these outlaws and directed to further accelerate efforts to curb crime.
