Pakistan search, rescue ready to leave for Japan
Islamabad, March 15, 2011 (PPI): A 70-member search and rescue team of National Disaster Management Authority NDMA is ready to leave for Japan to help its people and government in wake of devastating earthquake and tsunami.
It will be accompanied by a Canine Unit and Field Hospital, NDMA Chairman Lt. General Nadeem Ahmed said Tuesday. On behalf of government and people of Pakistan, he expressed sorrow for loss of life and property in Japan due to powerful earthquake and tsunami.
He said in order to help to Japanese brethren in this hour of need, NDMA’s 70-member search and rescue team, with a Canine Unit, was standing by to be dispatched to quake affected areas of Japan. In addition, a 30 be
