Censure debate against Thai government enters 2nd day

BANGKOK, March 16 (TNA) - A House session on censure debate against Thailand's Democrat Party-led government convened on the second day Wednesday morning, with the opposition turning to grill the Abhisit administration over its massive public debts.

The first-day no confidence debate on Tuesday, which lasted 17 hours, emphasized on the incumbent Thai government's failure to solve major national problems, leading to soaring oil prices and shortages of cooking palm oil, as well as unsettled border issues with neighbouring Cambodia.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his nine Cabinet members have been targeted by the opposition Puea Thai Party during this week's no confidence debate for their alleged failure in administrating the country and corruption.

The Thai premier and the other targeted ministers might also face impeachment for corruption and abuse of power if the no-confidence vote went against them. (TNA)
