PRESIDENT CALLS ON PEOPLE TO USE FRANCHISE
Bogor, W Java, Aug 24 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on all the Indonesian people to exercise their voting rights in every election both at local and national levels.
All the people's aspirations will be accommodated if they use their voting rights, the president said after casting his vote at the district-head election in Bogor, some 60 kilometers south of here Sunday.
"All the Indonesian people should use their rights to vote as well as possible. We have to participate in the elections for village heads, district heads, governors, president and legislators both at provincial and national levels," he said.
The head of state also brought his family members including First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, his mother Siti Habibah and his second son Edhie Baskoro to the poll.
Meanwhile, the president's daughter-in-law Anissa Pohan who was registered as a voter in Bogor did not appear on the occasion. Anissa only gave birth to her first baby on August 17, 2008.
