No doubt three islands belong to Iran
TEHRAN, March 16 (MNA) – The Islamic Republic has always insisted that the three islands of the Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa belong to Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said.
If there is any miscomprehension about Abu Musa Island, it can be cleared up through dialogue between Iran and the United Arab Emirates, he added.
However, he said that the UAE has taken a positive approach toward the issue.
The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council said in a statement recently that upon the request of the UAE foreign minister it would not mention the issue of the three islands in its final resolution.
