Diplomatic-(New Leadership to pull out Egypt from crisis, says Saifullah )
Islamabad, March 15, 2011 (PPI): Situation in Egypt is coming to normalcy and new leadership of Egypt will certainly pull out Egypt from existing crisis. Egypt and Pakistan have been enjoying excellent diplomatic bilateral relations. Both have trustworthy political relations and now we are adding more technical cooperation to further strengthen our ties, said Senator Salim Saifullah Khan during a meeting with Ambassador of Egypt on Tuesday.
Salim Saifullah Khan has said that Egypt should continue its help to make sure safe arrival of Pakistanis for Egypt. He while appreciating highly developed tourism industry of Egypt, drew help to save Pakistan sinking tourism industry. He also appreciated that, Egypt ranked first in North Africa and second best destination for FDI in the African continent for 2009-2010.
He said that both the countries had potential to improve trade relations, however, measures should be taken to facilitate regular business to business interactions between entrepreneurs of the two countries. He said that two ways trade between Pakistan and Egypt was far below than the desired level to tap the existing potential. He proposed that frequent visits of interested businessmen, potential investors, and exchange of trade and commerce officials of both the countries would be useful.
He further proposed that close linkages between the chambers of commerce of both the countries could play vital role to promoting trade volumes. He said that, Egypt is pioneer in tapping alternative energy resources in the Middle East region especially in wind and solar energy. Many Egyptian companies are preparing themselves to invest in energy sector of Pakistan.
Ambassador of Egypt Majdy Amir has said that Egypt has always value the sufferings of Pakistan being the front line state against the war against terrorism. We are with you in your happiness and sorrows. He has further told that he likes the culture, heritage and people of Pakistan.
Pakistan is the land of colourful ancient histories and centre of diversified heritages. He further said during Egypt uprising and crisis Pakistani community did not become a part of it which proved that Pakistani people are peace loving and educated.
Majdy Amir assured that he would play his active role to save Pakistan's tourism industry at all cost. said that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries was relative low. It was at US$ 320 million in 2009 which went down to US$ 230 million in 2010.
