Thai workers arrive home safe from Libya, while others opt to remain

BANGKOK, March 15 (TNA) - The Director-General of the Department of Employment, Jirasuk Sugandhajati, said on Tuesday that another group of 47 Thai workers has arrived home from Libya, bringing the total number of repatriates to 10,107.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’s schedule, the last group of 57 workers is expected to arrive in Suvarnabhumi International Airport from Tunisia Tuesday afternoon.

An Ad Hoc Center, assisting the process at Suvarnabhumi International Airport plans to continue operations in anticipation of new arrivals, most of whom travelled Libya for work by themselves.

Approximately 2,000 more workers remain in central Libya, confident that they are far away from the battle zone, opting to carry on working. (TNA)
