Meltdown threat appears at Fukushima-1 nuclear power station
TOKYO, March 15 (Itar-Tass) - A threat of total meltdown of nuclear fuel has emerged at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Japan. Three cooling systems of three out of six reactors have broken down, the Tokyo Electric Power Corporation said on Tuesday.
"The fuel has been damaged. We cannot deny the possibility of a
meltdown," the corporation's representative said.
