FOREIGN PARTNERS MEETING TO RUN
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The National statistical office, Ministry of Food, agriculture and light industry, and Food and agriculture organization in UNDP are jointly creating an information fund by registering families who produce agricultural products.
The census of livestock and domestic pets will be changed into the agricultural census, so some 15 kinds of indicators have been iunroduced into it, for example, food savety, employment, labour force, water management.
The National statistical office carry out a census of livestock, domestic animals every year and issues information about agriculture and livestock every month/season. However, it can not embrace data on food savety support, families-producers of agriculture products, their income and expenditure, forestry, fish farming, desertification, mining rehabilitation, land use, water, environment, rural development.
A meeting of foreign partners will run in Ulaanbaatar March 15, organized by the National statistical office, the Ministry of Food, agriculture and light industry, the Food and agriculture organization in UNDP for considering the census matters.
Agriculture takes a special place in Mongolia's economy. According to 2010 figures, the sector produced 16 percent of Gross Domestic Product, created 33.5 percent of labour force, 12.5 percent of export's income.
