Thais glad to return home after experiencing Japan earthquake

BANGKOK, March 14 (TNA) - Thais returning from Japan said they were shocked by the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear reactor explosions there, and they were glad to return to Thailand.

Suvarnabhumi airport Monday morning saw the homecoming of Thais from Japan, along with Japanese tourists, from Narita.

Panicha Somsuk, who was touring Japan last week, said when the earthquake erupted, she was at the bay of Agone. She felt minor trembles but said most people were not at the time shocked, treating the incident as a usual phenomenon.

Nanthanat Phurikusat, a Thai businesswoman, said she went to Japan for a conference in Tokyo, which she was attending at the time the earthquake hit. Despite being quite far from the worst hit area of Sendai city, she was able to feel the earth tremble. (TNA)
