Pakistan 40 militants killed in security forces operation at Swat
Peshawar, Aug 23 PPI: At least 40 militants were killed and a number of other injured in security forces operation Saturday in Kabbal Tehsil of restive Swat valley in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province.
According to Army sources, those killed also include prominent commanders of militants. Two security personnel were martyred and three injured during the operation.
The security forces are successfully moving towards main centre and training camp of militants in Kabbal. The operation will continue till cleansing area from militants and restoration of peace.
Local population is fully cooperating with security forces. Indefinite curfew has been imposed from Kabbal to Kanju. Curfew has been relaxed in other parts of Swat from 7.00 am to 08:00 pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in Bajaur Agency, 10 militants were killed in an ongoing operation of security forces against extremists. Officials said security forces hit hideouts of militants in Tangkhatta, Kirall and Mullakili areas by gunship helicopters, artillery and mortar guns.
