Kim Jong Il enjoys performance of country's Navy ensemble
PYONGYANG, March 14 (Itar-Tass) - Supreme Commander of the Korean
People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, enjoyed a performance given by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Navy of the KPA.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on
Monday that the colourful performance included "Hoist the Supreme
Commander's Colours," "My Warship Is the Land of the Country Dear to Me," "Pleased to Have Defended the Sea of the Country," "Our Army, Our People" and "Death Defying Corps on the Sea."
The performers enthusiastically sang of the invincible might of the heroic KPA grown to be matchless forces under the loving care of Kim Jong Il and powerfully demonstrated the iron faith and the indomitable will of the KPA soldiers to accomplish with arms the revolutionary cause of Juche started in the forest of Mt. Paektu.
Kim Jong Il expressed great satisfaction over the splendid performance staged by the artistes of the ensemble with works of high ideological and artistic value and highly appreciated their successful presentation, extending thanks to them. He highly praised them for their work style, noting that they have conducted dynamic performing activities, instilling confidence of sure victory, optimism and the courage and will to wipe out the enemy into soldiers, according to KCNA.
He expressed the expectation and belief that the creators and artistes of the ensemble would more dynamically conduct the revolutionary and militant performing activities to positively contribute to educating the soldiers in a revolutionary manner.
Among the audience were senior party and army officials Kim Jong Un (the youngest son of Kim Jon Il), Ri Yong Ho, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Hong Sok Hyong, Kim Kyong Hui, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Jong Gak, Kim Yang Gon, Pak To Chun, Choe Ryong Hae, Thae Jong Su, KPA Generals Kim Won Hong, Jong Myong Do, Hyon Chol Hae and Ri Myong Su and Col. General Han Tong Gun, the agency said.
