Ukraine ready to send rescuers to quake-hit Japan
KIEV, March 14 (Itar-Tass) - Ukraine is ready to provide every
possible assistance to Japan struck by devastating quake and tsunami,
Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Dikusarov said.
"Taking into account Ukraine's rich experience in overcoming effects
of radioactive contamination acquired during the Chernobyl nuclear
disaster and an emergency situation at Japan's Fukushima-1 nuclear power
plant" Ukraine's Foreign Ministry addressed Japan with a proposal to
provide assistance of its nuclear power specialists.
Ukraine's Emergency Ministry is ready to provide necessary technical
support to Japan.
"A group of 45 Ukrainian rescuers with special equipment is ready to
fly to Japan's quake-hit regions," Dikusarov said.
The radiation level at a quake-hit nuclear power plant in Fukushima
Prefecture has again exceeded the legal limit, Tokyo Electric Power Co.
