CEC CONDUCTS TRAINING ON COMPLAINT PROCESSING RULES
Baku, 23 AUGUST,(AzerTAj)The Central Election Commission, COE Venice Commission and International Foundation for Election Systems co-organized the training on complaints processing for members of the constituency election commissions responsible for processing complaints.
Mazahir Panahov, CEC chairman, stressed the need for election education events for commission members, media and other stakeholders. To date, CEC has conducted a number of trainings and seminars for members of the constituency electioncommissions and their secretariats.
According to Panahov, 9-member expert group under the CEC and 3-member group under the constituency election commissions were set up to process complaints of citizensin line with the legislation.
Speaking at the event were representative of the Venice Commission Sergey Kuznetsov, IFES expert Jonathan Bernstein, CoE Secretary General`s special representativeVeronika Kotek and Deputy Head of the OSCE Baku Office Alexis Chahtahtinsky.
Representatives of 65 district election commissions are participating in the training, which is to last until August 22. The other group of commission employeeswill join training on August 25-26.
