Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan claim responsibility of Ordnance Factory blasts

Islamabad, Aug 21 PPI: Tehrik-e- Taliban Pakistan say they carried out a double suicide blast at outside exit gates of Pakistan Ordnance Factory POF on Thursday afternoon near Islamabad in which death toll has risen to 70 and 80 injured.

Two bombers struck at the gates as workers were streaming out of the facility inWah, a garrison city about 20 miles west of Islamabad.

TTP spokesman Maulvi Umar said the attacks were revenge for airstrikes in Bajur, amilitant stronghold near the Afghan border.

He warned militants would carry out similar attacks in other major cities, unlessthe military halted operations.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani strongly condemned the attack and directedauthorities "to expose hidden hands behind the incident".

The bombing was second this week. A suicide bomber attacked a hospital innorthwestern town of Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, killing 30 people.
