AZERBAIJANI GRANDMASTER MAMMADYAROV SECURES HIS FIRST WIN AT INT’L CHESS FESTIVAL
Baku, 23 AUGUST,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijani chess grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov beat American rival Gata Kamsky in the 5th round of the international chess festival in memory of world champion Mikhail Tal in Moscow, Russia. It was his first win in this tournament.
The day`s other results were as follows: R.Ponamoryov 1-0 P.Leko, B.Gelfand 0.5-0.5 E.Alekseyev, A.Morozevich 0.5-0.5A.Shirov, V.Ivanchuk 0.5-0.5 V.Kramnik.
