Lami exerts efforts to release Iraqi journalist arrested in Libya

Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi Journalists Syndicate announced that its Chairman, Mu’ayad Al Lami, contacted Iraqi Foreign Affairs Ministry undersecretary, Labeed Abbawi, who represents Iraq in the urgent Arab foreign ministers meeting, currently, held in Cairo regarding the Iraqi journalist, Ghaith Abdul Ahad, arrested in Libya.



In a statement issued by the Syndicate, “for his part, Abbawi contacted his Libyan counterpart to release of the Iraqi journalist who works for the British “Guardian”. Abdul Ahad was arrested during coverage of the recent events in Libya. /End/
