Maliki orders lifting the barriers “in a way that does not affect security”

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister and General Commander of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Nouri Al Maliki, ordered the formation of a committee to lift the concrete barriers from all Baghdad areas.

A statement issued by the Baghdad Operations Command said “the committee is due to be high level comprising BOC personnel in coordination with Baghdad Municipality to lift the barriers in a way that does not affect security.”

The government says these barriers are important to maintain the citizens’ security and vital institutions, but, lots of Baghdad locals think it is extreme procedure, demanding, through the demonstrations, to lift these barriers to ease the citizens’ sufferings since about 400 checkpoints spread in Baghdad streets. /End/
