PREMIER ORDERS TO INTENSIFY PROGRAM

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold has reminded officials that the work must be intensified of providing the people with apartments in a scope of the “100 thousand apartments” program. It was sounded at a meeting of related working group that also has a goal to solve problems of air pollution in the city.
The Premier has also spoken about a problem which is faced to the program due to a high percentage of the mortgage loan granted by commercial banks. For the time being, the interest of the long-term mortgage loan for the state servants is about eight per cent. Thus, the working group's meeting has discussed ways of solving the problems. The Premier has obliged the related officials to study an opportunity to reduce the percentage of interest to less than 6 per cent, and to give a report.
A financial matter is not solved so far for implementing the program. So, the working group has been given a task to work out a version to determine a financial scheme. “This task must be an intensive and effective measure for the program. It is the priority goal for the people,” the Premier has stressed. He has added that this program does not aim to provide constriction companies with fruitful business. Then, a decision has been made at the meeting to submit the matters to a cabinet meeting, and to place all necessary expenses in the budgetary clarification. Moreover, the Premier has reminded the officials to create green parks with the construction works.
The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy D.Zorigt has reported that the infrastructure and thermal matters have been tackled in the city's 7th micro district.
An issue has been raised at the meeting on a land for the 5th thermal power station to be erected on base of the 3rd power station. The biggest problem is freeing the land where ger districts exist. In conjunction with it, the Premier has underlined that the state regulation must be tough for the public interest.
It is considered that the program of provision of apartment will be intensified from the next week thanks to the working group's decision. Headed by the Deputy Premier, the working group comprises Ch.Khurelbaatar, a head of the Cabinet Secretariat; S.Bayartsogt, the Minister of Finance; Kh.Battulga, the Minister of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development; L.Purevdorj, president of the Bank of Mongolia, and its vice president and first vice president.
