Radiation background in Kamchatka is normal - Rospotrebnadzor
PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, March 13 (Itar-Tass) -- In Russia's
Kamchatka the radiation level is not above the norm and makes from seven to nine microroentgen per hour, the regional branch of Rospotrebnadzor said on Sunday.
The round-the-clock monitoring at 28 stations follows the accidents at Japan's Fukushima 1 and Fukushima 2 nuclear power plants after the powerful earthquake that hit Japan on Friday, March 11.
Kamchatka's meteorology centre forecasts that over coming two days air flow from Japan will not reach Kamchatka.
"The air flows there move towards the North-West to the Pacific
Ocean," a source in the centre said.
A team of EMERCOM's life-savors is ready to fly to Japan should that be requested, EMERCOM's press service said.
