Killers of Iranian rangers identified
SANANDAJ, March 13 (MNA) – A security official of Kordestan Province announced that the security forces in an armed clash with members of a terrorist group linked to the religious extremists in the city of Dehgolan, in the Western province of Kordestan, have killed one terrorist and arrested another one.
The arrested terrorist has confessed that this counter-revolutionary group carried out the last week’s terrorist attack in Sanandaj in which four rangers on patrol were killed, Kordestan Province deputy governor for security and political affairs Iraj Hasanzadeh told reporters on Saturday.
No police force was injured in the clash and police are trying to arrest other members of this terrorist group, particularly those elements who were directly involved in the killing of rangers, he said.
The security official reassured that the security forces will not allow the counter-revolutionary groups to take any further action against the Islamic system, saying all plots hatched by these groups will be foiled with people’s close cooperation.
He added that the enemies of the Islamic system are seeking to undermine the security of Kordesatn and provoke division among people through carrying out such actions, but such incidents will only strengthen the unity among people.
