Saleh, State leaders discuss developments at national arena

(Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh presided over on Saturday a meeting gathered the State leaderships
and the Higher Security Committee to discuss the current developments at the national arena.
The meeting dealt with what happened yesterday evening from assaults and harassment of citizens by the exciting elements of chaos and riots.
In this regard, Minister of Interior explained to the meeting that a number of chaotic elements of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMPs) have erected tents by force since Friday
afternoon in front of citizens' houses and commercial shops in neighboring zones to the Sana'a University.
This action led to clashes and riots between the inhabitants of the neighborhoods and the protesters resulted in injuring of 161 security personnel and a number of citizens
and protesters, the Interior Minister said.
The attendants also discussed several issues related to the preservation of security, stability, public order and social peace.
