NSW man charged with abducting girl
SYDNEY, March 12 (AAP)- A 66-year-old man has been charged with the abduction of a young girl from her front door on the Central Coast.
The man attended an address in McLachlan Avenue, Long Jetty and spoke to the mother of a five-year-old girl at just past 8am (AEDT) on Friday.
It is alleged the man is known to the girl's mother.
The mother left the child at the front door with the man for a period of time, during which it is alleged the man enticed the girl into his car, police say.
When the mother returned to the front door, she found the girl missing, and the man had driven from the scene.
The woman alerted her husband, who went to the man's address in Watanobbi and a short time later removed the girl from the man's vehicle.
The man was charged with child abduction and refused bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Saturday.
