AIOU to hold ”Students weekend spring festival 2011” from March 28
Islamabad (PPI) - The celebrations of "Students weekend Spring festival 2011" under the auspices of Directorate of Students Advisory & Counselling Services Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will start from March 28.
Director Students Affairs, Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain Naqvi giving details the celebrations told that same kind of ceremonies would be organized in the regional offices of AIOU. He informed that students week and Jashan-e-Baharan will start on March 28 on the second day of celebration, flower exhibition would be held.
On March 30, painting exhibitions of prominent Chinese painters would be held to mark the Pak-China Friendship year here in the FM station lobby while university students would stage a drama on the same day.
Zia-ul-Hasnain Naqvi said that speech contest in English and Urdu language and national songs competition would be held on March 31 while on the same evening a mehfil-e-Mushaira would be arranged. Eminent pets and students of AIOU will orate their poetic work. He said Husn-e-Qirat, Naat, painting and essay writing competition among AIOU students would be held on April 01 while in the evening Friday Spring festival and Meena bazaar would be organized.
He said that in the last programme of the students week and Jashan-e-Baharan, prize would be distributed among the winners of different competitions. He said AIOU following the directives of its VC has compiled a unique and important calendar to include its students across the country in the healthy curriculum activities. He said Dr. Sangi has also issued directives to ensure holding maximum activities in all regional campuses and participation of students in these ceremonies.
