Russia's emergencies ministry ready to send rescuers to Japan

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) - Russia's Emergencies Ministry is ready
to send rescuers and an airmobile hospital to quake-hit Japan, a ministry
official told Itar-Tass on Friday.
"Under an order from Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian
Emergencies Ministry has prepared response teams, the Centrospas and
Leader groups, to render assistance to Japan," said Vladimir Stepanov, the
head of the national crisis management centre.
In his words, six jets with rescuers, psychologists, medics and a
mobile hospital onboard are ready to take off. "They will be sent to the
disaster area as soon as Japan asks for help," he added.
